Planting
Plant a pot-grown wisteria at any time of year, 3m apart. Strong sources: RHS and Roots Plants.
Winter-prune the wisteria
For trained plants only.
Cut the shoots you pruned in summer back to two or three buds.

Feed the wisteria
Use Growmore or fish, blood and bone; on sandy soil add sulphate of potash at 20g per square metre.

Summer-prune the wisteria
For trained plants only.
Cut the whippy green shoots of this year’s growth back to five or six leaves.
